Columbia Park Becoming a Haven for Sexual Activity
KENNEWICK, Wa.,--Kennewick police will continue to have uniformed and undercover officers monitoring Columbia Park.
Sexual activity is becoming pretty common in the secluded nature trails. Many single men and women are soliciting others to perform lewd acts on one another.. And leaving evidence behind. Police say this is proof these acts occur as well as how often. Any intentions to engage in sexual conduct at the park will lead to arrest.
"If we stumble upon somebody doing a lewd act, they will be arrested," says Detective Rick Runge. And then if somebody comes down here looking for sexual intercourse or other sexual activity, and they contact a police officer, they'll be arrested."
Earlier this morning, police say 55-year-old Stephen Bibe of Kennewick attempted to solicit an undercover detective. Bibe also allegedly sexual assaulted that detective. He was arrested and charged with Assault with Sexual Motivations and Lewd Conduct.
