MADISON, Ind. - Steve Tomberlin, 47, of Colorado Springs rented the movie "Madison" a week ago Saturday and liked it... watched it three times.  He looked online for the racing schedule and saw Madison was this weekend.  And drove 20 hours to be here.

Steve ran into Bob Greene, a next store neighbor of hydroplane restorer Dave Johnson, and asked for some advice where he could get a place to stay and Bob said he could stay with him.

Steve joined Dave and Jean Johnson, Joe and Joy Johnson, and Bob in the large crowd at Madison.  Bruce Lowe took him through the pits to meet the drivers, Jeff Ayler interviewed him on the PA and Bruce Madej set it up for Steve to present the trophy to Greg Hopp for winning Heat 3C.  Together, we watched the racing from the viewing deck on top of one of
the Formula team's trucks thanks to Ted Porter.
