Yakima Man Gets Hit By Train Saving Another Woman

YAKIMA, Wash. - Two people are sent to the hospital after one man is hit by a train saving another woman.

It happened around 8:20am Thursday morning.  Four people were at Berglund Lake at the Yakima greenway.  They left and followed a set of train tracks over a bridge.

A 21 year-old female tripped on the train tracks and a 27 year-old male picked her up and shoved her out of the way of an on coming train.  The male was then hit by the train.

Both the woman and the man were sent to the hospital.  The woman suffering from leg injuries due to the fall.  The injuries the male sustained from the accident are unknown at this time but it is reported that he was conscious when he was taken to the hospital.
