YAKIMA, Wash -- The Washington State Public Disclosure Commission is investigating former Republican Governor candidate Dino Rossi.
Last month, the Washington State Democrat Party filed a compliant with the PDC. In their complaint, they allege that Rossi is a declared candidate and must file campaign financial reports.
Rossi denies the charge, "I have never declared for the 2008 election," said Rossi.
Since 2006, Rossi has traveled across the state giving speeches and raising public awareness of issues affecting the future of Washington state through his non-profit, the Forward Washington Foundation.
Democrats believe Rossi's foundation is not a non-profit, but a political action committee, and want him to start filing quarterly financial statements.
"We follow the law," said Rossi. However, when asked if he thought he should go beyond the letter of the law, and release the names of contributors to Forward Washington, Rossi said no.
Rossi stressed that he has not made up his mind on whether or not to run in 2008.
"I will make that decision later this year, with my wife and family."
