KENNEWICK, Wash, - It's a huge game coming up for the Tri-Cities Fever, except this indoor football team hasn't gotten to practice indoors. Every practice this week except one has been outside at Richland High. That's because the Toyota Center has been booked with other events, including this week's Jahova Witnesses Convention. The last three weeks they've practiced indoors just four times. Practicing on a wide open field and then having to play on a smaller field with boards instead of sidelines is tough on these guys.
"I mean we're playing pretty good for not practicing in the arena," said Coach Tony Wells. "The good thing is that not practicing in the arena, we save our legs a little bit. We don't take that wear and tear form the turf. But still we need at least one day a week in there to get some time."
Saturday's game in Spokane will be broadcast on KNDU and KNDO beginnning at 5 p.m. The Fever beat the Shock in the first meeting June 16 in Kennewick.
