Cable TV Pushing DVR to Survive Against Satellite

A new report finds Cable TV providers are relying more and more on Digital Video Recorder technology to compete against Satellite Television Broadcasters.

A study by a Northern California consulting firm called The Carmel Group finds that over the next three years, the number of cable homes with DVR devices will roughly double from the current 17-point-six million to around 32 million.

The study finds that over the same period, the number of satellite television customers with DVR devices is projected to total about 17 million.

That's seven million more than the current ten million.
