New Options for Uninsured Children in Washington State

YAKIMA, Wash.- Right now there's nearly 45,000 children in our state without health insurance. If you're a family in need, starting July 22nd, new coverage options go in to effect that could help you get insurance for your child.

Here's how the new coverage plan works:

  • Children in families of four with incomes up to $51,635 will be eligible for coverage
  • Previously, family incomes could be no higher than $20,650. 
  • The new coverage will apply to all children ages 18 and under
  • They must live in Washington state and their family must meet the income criteria

You can pick up an application at DSHS in Yakima or at any DSHS location statewide.
