Accused Rapist Kenneth Freeman Refuses Extradition

TRI-CITIES, Wash. - In Hong Kong Thursday, 44 year old Kenneth John Freeman from the Tri-Cities challenged an attempt by U.S. authorities to have him extradited back to Seattle to face charges of raping his daughter.

Freeman allegedly raped his daughter and posted video of the assault on the internet.

He fled to China in March of last year to avoid authorities in the U.S., but was arrested in Hong Kong in May.

Lawyers for Freeman and the Hong Kong government said Freeman will try to fight his extradition.

Hong Kong Government Lawyer Wayne Walsh said, "On that date we will present the evidence on behalf of the government of the United States in support of extradition request and Mr. Freeman's council will make any argument in opposition to the request and the magistrate will make a ruling on whether or not to order surrender."

The extradition hearing is set for September 10th.
