Crash On Yakama Reservation Leaves One Woman Dead and 8 Children Injured

To the north, near Brownstown on the Yakama reservation, another crash left a woman dead and another woman and eight children injured.

Troopers say both drivers were returning from a dinnerparty last night.

Investigators say the 43-year-old Lea Sweowat pulled out of a line of cars at an intersection to pass just as another car turned left in front of her.

The other driver, 33-year-old Dorothy Adams, died at the scene.

Each had four children as passengers, and all were taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
