Driver Could Face Harsher Charges Now Victim Has Died
PASCO, Wa - The driver in the hit and run case could face more severe charges now that the pedestrian has died.
Martel Verda Aguilar has been arrested and is being charged with vehicular assault.
Crime lab specialists from Spokane and Pasco detectives searched the Toyota Camry they believe was involved in the accident.
Police say it's unclear why he apparently fled the scene.
Pasco Police Captain, Jim Raymond, says there could be a variety of reasons why a driver flees the scene but in this case, the reason isn't known right now and investigators are still working out the facts.
But since the victim died, the susoect could possibly face vehicular homicide charges.
