Yakima Shootings Could be Related

Yakima, WA -  Yakima Police say two early morning shootings could be related because they happened just a few blocks away from each other.

The first one happened on the 1200 block of Cherry Avenue.

Police say a dark colored vehicle drove past a residence and someone inside fired a shot, hitting a 27-year-old man in the back.

About two hours later, a 22-year-old man was shot at close range on the 600 block of North 5th Avenue.

Police say the injuries to the shooting victims don't appear to be serious.

Police say both have ties to local street gangs.

Witnesses haven't been cooperating, which is making it difficult for police to track down suspects.
