Bail Set at 35,000 for Pasco Man Accused of Hit and Run

PASCO, Wash. - A 30-year-old man remained behind bars Wednesday night in Franklin County Jail.

30-year-old Martel Verdia Aguilar was accused of fatally striking 57-year-old Louise Stephenson-Brown with his car then taking off.  

The accident happened Monday night at the intersection of Court Street and 5th Street in Pasco.  Pasco Police tracked him down at his apartment on North 24th Street in Pasco after they received a tip Tuesday morning. 

Washington State Patrol Crime Lab Specialists from Spokane and Pasco Detectives spent all day Tuesday searching for evidence both in car and his apartment.

Kadlec Medical Center reported that Stephenson-Brown died Tuesday morning after suffering serious injuries to her head.

Aguilar's bail is set at 35,000 dollars.  There is a hearing for him Tuesday morning in Franklin County Courthouse.

Aguilar's was arrested for vehicle assault.
