PROSSER, Wash.--The new winery is Airfield Estates. It's a family owned operation, run by the Miller family. They are very excited about the grand opening happening July 28th.
Stationed alongside I-82, it's easy to see the Water Tower as your passing through. Airfield Estates uses a vintage airplane motif. This represents the airport and training base that used to be on the families property during World War II. Winemaker Marcus Miller says everything is coming together.
"We're excited cause we're releasing five new wines this weekend, five wines for people to taste that we're just were bottled three weeks ago, and the facility just got completed," says Miller.
The grand opening is Saturday, July 28th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Guests will be treated to wine tasting, food, and live music from Dale Brown, a local musician. The winery will also have a special VIP lounge area known as Officers Wine Club.
Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and a unique red blend called Aviator Red are just some of the featured wines people can sample saturday.
