Investigations Continue on a String of Suspicious Yakima Fires
YAKIMA, Wash - Yakima Police and Fire are investigating three suspicious fires that were lit Sunday morning. They all happened within hours of each other in West Valley at vacant homes.
One was at a home on Occidental and Dazet road. The back side of another abandoned house caught fire off of Coolidge Road, close to Apple Tree Golf Course. The third fire was inside of a small home off of Gibbler Road, near occidental.
Fire investigators need the communities help.
"We'll take any help we can get if you see any suspicious vehicles. A lot of fires we've had have been around vacant houses, if you see someone around a house you know is vacant we appreciate any help anyone can give us," says Hans Solie of the Yakima Fire Department.
Fire officials believe these fires are connected due to how close they were to eachother.
If you have any information you are asked to call 1-800-55-ARSON. Nobody was injured in the fires and crews will continue their investigation.
There were five other suspicious fires in Yakima on Saturday night near Chestnut avenue. No word yet if these are connected to Sunday's fires.
