BENTON CITY, Wash. - Tuesday night voters in Benton City got a chance to hear from potential candidates that are expected to appear on the primary ballot this September.

The forum was organized by the Benton City Chamber of Commerce and the Benton City Economic Development Council.

Economic Development Representative Heather Duncan said the purpose of this forum is to give candidates a chance to talk about the issues rather than their personality differences.

Duncan said, "Where do you see Benton City in the future?  What is your vision for Benton City? That really is an issue that our entire community is focusing on right now.  What is the candidates vision for the city?"

Representatives from Benton County Fire District Number 2 also discussed two measures that will be on the primary ballot concerning taxes.

Residence that attended the meeting heard from candidates running for the Benton City Mayor position including Lloyd Carnahan, Bruce Gradisher, Lynn Johnson, and Bryan Robinson.

In addition, three candidates are vying for the City Council Position Three including Bob Bruce, Richard Delorme, and Don Dorsey.
