New KGH Clinic Angers People in South Richland
But some people in South Richland say this is just KGH's way of trying to make people believe they are being served by the hospital. South Richland resident Pres Billings says, "There's been pressure in South Richland to support KGH and suddenly there comes an operation that seems to be trying placate some people."
The new clinic would be near Gage and Leslie, near another walk-in clinic already there. KGH officials say they are just responding to a need and that they are just trying to serve the people in their district.
They say at their Southridge clinic, they have already helped more than a thousand people from Richland.Despite the success of the Southridge KGH and the new clinic, many South Richlanders say their minds aren't changed about the Southridge Hospital.
South Richland resident Bob Potter says, "It's not gonna change people's opinion in South Richland."
Billings says, "We're busy getting petitions signed and hoping we get a high percentage of voters."
And people in South Richland say they already have doctors and clinics to go to, they say they wouldn't use the new KGH clinic and don't see why it is needed. Potter says, "One would question why you would open a clinic when there is already one in that immediate vacinity."
