MINNEAPOLIS - A Minneapolis bridge packed with rush-hour commuters collapses Wednesday.  At least seven are dead, dozens are injured and twenty people are still missing.

Rescuers continue the search Thursday morning after having to call of the search the night before when conditions made the effort too dangerous.

The bridge simply gave out, concrete cascading more than 50 feet into the Mississippi river.  Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the bridge collapse.  A spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security said there is no reason to think that terrorism was involved in the collapse, NBC News' Pete Williams reported.

The portions of the bridge that did not fall into the water, collapsed on a train on the north side.  Several tractor trailer fires ensued after the collapse.

Minnesota's governor who arrived on the scene shortly after the collapse was at a loss for words.   "Obviously this is a catastrophe of historic proportions for Minnesota."
