Local Campaigns Complain that People are Stealing Campaign Signs

Yakima, WA -    Local campaigns are complaining that people are stealing campaign signs.

The Curtis King campaign says that in the last week their signs have been stolen three times at Fisher Park.

In other instances, people are going onto private property to steal a sign.

"I hope that these people who are doing this understand that its against the law," says Maureen Adkison, Co-Chair of the Curtis King Campaign.

Adkison says the King campaign has replaced more than 300 stolen signs.

The Yakima County Auditor says you could face up to 90-days in jail, or $1,000 in fines if you are caught stealing or defacing a lawfully placed sign.
