KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Tri-Cities libraries are allowing you to go express. Right now at Kennewick's Keewaydin Library and coming August 27th to most of the rest of the Mid-Columbia system, customers will be able to use the express self check out system.
All customers have to do is scan their library card, scan their items, and click done. Library employees say the new system will also help people feel confident in checking out anything.
The Mid-Columbia Library's Kyle Cox says, "We respect people's privacy. We want them to feel comfortable checking out what they want and so by having the express check out they are going to have that easy, fast and private way to check out."
The new system allows you to pick whether you want to check out in English or Spanish and library officials say it will allow them more one-on-one time to talk with customers.
