OLYMPIA, Wash. - Secretary of State Sam Reed predicts 34 percent of voters will cast ballots in the August 21st primary.
The primary is a month earlier than in the past. It was moved up to give election officials more time to handle ballots because most of them now go through the mail.
Voters will be deciding mostly local races and property tax levies.
Ballots must be postmarked by August 21st. Washington has 3.3 million registered voters.
