Ellensburg, WASH - The debate over regional retail continues in Ellensburg. The city held another special meeting tonight to discuss development plans. These kind of meetings have been going on for three years. People in attendance say they are ready to get stores like Best Buy and Wal-Mart to Ellensburg. Others say they are tired of driving down to Yakima to do their shopping.
Thursday night the city council made changes to the ordinance that would allow the regional retail. They are still trying to iron out details like square footage on the stores. The ordinance will still have to be reviewed and it could be formally read out loud at one of the next few meetings.
