Brush Fire Burns 1,200 Acres off of Highway 97

NEAR TOPPENISH, Wash.- Fire investigators are still trying to figure out what caused a 1,200acre brush fire off of highway 97. The fire started around four o'clock on Saturday, as hundreds of acres were completely charred.

The area burned is about 15 miles south of Toppenish. About 100 firefighters helped get the fire under control, spending the day monitoring the area and watching for rekindles.

The fire is still under investigation.
