Terrace Heights, WA - Central Pre-Mix Concrete has been forced to temporarily shut down its concrete operations at its Toppenish mine.
Several big construction projects in the Yakima area could now be delayed.
That includes the new medical school -- Pacific Northwest University.
The construction team is trying to plan as far in advance as possible in an effort to prevent that from happening.
"We're trying to work up a strict schedule and not get hit with a back log as a result of this," says Glenn Costello of KDA Construction, the company managing the project.
Other concrete companies have already reported backlogs with central pre-mix shutting down operations.
The med school hopes to have the building finished by July of 2008.
Central Pre-Mix has told the school the shut down could last up to 45-days.
