KENNEWICK, Wash.- The landscape on Gage Boulevard in Kennewick saw a dramatic change Monday.
Four huge roof pieces were hoisted into place on a new business development.
Each of those pieces weighs about 14,000 pounds each.
They're going on top of the new 119-degrees West Center.
The new space will be leased out to local businesses, but it's the architectural impact the builders hope will stand out the most.
"A building like this is what the Tri-City really needs, and i think it's certainly something that the local people really appreciate because i get compliments all the time and that's for putting up something that's different," said Bob Johnson, the developer.
The buildings should be open within the next year.
Those signature pieces that were hoisted into place this morning aren't just for the architecture, they'll also serve as storage space for the tenants.
