Police Say Shooting Investigation Closed without New Information
KENNEWICK, Wash.- Kennewick detectives say they're no longer actively investigating a July double shooting, unless new evidence comes up.
Police say Wendy Rae committed suicide but, can't say who shot Jason Jansen, who survived the shooting.
Jansen lost an eye in the shooting and tells police he can't remember what happened.
"Either way, it's kind of a moot point in the fact that she's deceased, so even if she shot him, there's no one to prosecute. If he shot himself, there's not a crime there," said Kennewick Police Sgt. Scott Child.
Police are still waiting for ballistics evidence they hope may shed more light on who shot Jansen.
