Police Warning People to Avoid Bus Lanes at Fair

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.- If you're driving to the fair, police want you to pay special attention to the bus lane along 10th Avenue.

Kennewick officers are patrolling to make sure people don't clog up the lane.

It can easily be mistaken for a carpool lane.

It's a $124 ticket if you're caught trying to sneak around traffic.  Police say the bus is the best way to and from the fair.

"Every night's been busy so far, but yeah, friday and saturday night we anticipate some very large crowds, so, just want to get the word out, people respect the bus lanes, the busses get in and out of here quickly and efficiently and safely and everybody can have a good time," said Sgt. Ken Lattin with Kennewick Police.

Police are also warning you not to mistakenly park in the temporary bus lane.  It's usually used for parking along 10th.
