Fire Crews Investigate Three Suspicious Fires in Yakima

YAKIMA, Wash.- Fire crews are investigating three suspicious fires in Yakima. The first, on Scenic Drive. It happened just after midnight on Saturday near 46th avenue and Scenic drive. Fire crews say a forty foot by forty foot shrub was on fire there, threatening a nearby home.

While crews were working to put that fire out, another shrub fire was reported just a couple blocks down near 58th avenue and Scenic Drive. Crews were able to get both fires under control within about 20 minutes. Both fires caused about $15,000 worth of damage.

The third suspicious fire in Yakima happened just after 5 o'clock this morning at a warehouse on the 1400 block of Gordon Road in Yakima. Fire crews say about 1800 wooden bins were on fire there, causing about $15,000 dollars worth of damage.

Luckily, crews were able to get the fire under control within about 45 minutes. Twenty-one firefighters helped put that fire out. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it's being labeled suspicious. If you have any information on any of these three suspicious fires, call the Yakima Fire Department.
