ELLENSBURG, Wash -- More than 70,000 people are expected to attend the Kittitas County Fair and Rodeo this weekend, and local businesses are ready to cash in.
On any given weekend, most hotels and RV parks hope to be sold out on Friday and Saturday nights. But this weekend, local hotels say they will do better than that.
"We will be sold out Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday night," said Mary Lou Potter, manager at the Days Inn in Ellensburg.
The Ellensburg Chamber of Commerce estimates the five day event brings in about $6 million to the community -- they have even started calling the weekend their 13th month because of its importance to local businesses.
The fair beings Thursday August 30th, and wraps up Monday, September 3rd.
