Medical equipment stolen from sick Yakima girl

YAKIMA, Wash -- Natalie Gomez needs her expensive medical equipment to survive -- but now its gone. Stolen by thieves.

Seven years ago, Gomez was born with DeGeorge Syndrome, a rare immune condition. Every night she is hooked up to a ventilator, and can't travel far from one during the day.

Last night, she and her mom, Myra Moreno, were preparing to travel to Seattle for a doctors appointment. Moreno packed the car with spare batteries, cables and a ventilator. This morning when they woke up, their brown Honda Accord and all the medical equipment were gone. Stolen by thieves.

Without Natalie's equipment, She can't leave the house. No school, no park, no shopping with mom for groceries.

Moreno doesn't care about the car, but she is desperate to get back the $15,000 dollars worth of medical equipment that helps keep her daughter alive.

If you have any information, contact the Yakima Police at 575-6200.
