Zaepfel Stadium getting new seats

YAKIMA, Wash. - Zaepfel Stadium is getting a makeover.  The fifty year-old stadium, home to both Ike and Davis, has been in need of updating for some time. Former Eisenhower player Mike Saxton is spearheading an effort to get perma-cap seat covers placed over the old wooden bleachers. They've raised most of the thirty-eight thousand dollars needed, half of that coming from the Yakima School District. The seat covers should be installed soon. They also want to raise money for a new sport turf to replace the grass. That would attract WIAA events on a state-wide basis and be a boost for the local economy. If you are interested in donating time or money to the improvement of the stadium please contact Mike Saxton at mikejrsyak@charter.net
