Tri-City beats Yakima 10-0, three games left
YAKIMA, Wash. - Dan Fournier held the Dust Devils to just one run through eight innings, but Tri-City exploded for nine runs in the ninth en route to a 10-0 win in the Bears home season finale at Yakima County Stadium.
Phillip Cuadrado hit a grand slam, followed immediately by a homerun by Lars Davis to break the game open. Brian lapin added a run-scoring triple and Brian Rike hit a two-run homerun to complete the nine-run inning.
Tri-City held a slim 1-0 lead trough eight innings on a two-out infield RBI single by Kevin Clark in the fifth.
Fournier finished with eight plus strong innings, charged with three runs on seven hits and five strikeouts. However, Conner Graham earned the win for Tri-City with five innings of shutout pitching, while Drew Coffey pitched three perfect innings of relief.
The Bears close out the season with a three game series at Spokane, with Alvaro Ortega on the mound for the Bears at 6:30 p.m. The Bears are mathematically eliminated form the NWL East race.
Tri-City has a 1 game lead over Boise. They finish the season with three games at Boise starting Monday. Salem-Keizer has already clinched the NWL West division.
