CWU seeking more balance on gridiron in 2007

ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Central is known as a passing team. They have two all-conference performers coming back in QB Mike Reilly and Wideout Johnny Spevak. Reilly had 2,660 yards with 21 touchdowns last season, but the new coach, who used to be a CWU quarterback himself, wants to do more than just throw it around all day.

"I get asked that a lot," said Beau Baldwin, whose taking over for John Zamberlin. "'You're a quarterback, you're gonna throw it all over the place?' I'm gonna probably in some ways, not throw it less, but try to be more balanced and try to do things where we keep a team off balance."

Baldwin's first game as head coach comes Saturday September 9 at home against Humboldt State.
