Fishing Rules are Changing in Washington

The Department of Fish and Wildlife has a new proposed package of sport fishing rules for the 2008-2009 fishing season, 78 all together.

Some include: non-buoyant lure restriction with a new anti-snagging rule.   Separating limits for largemouth and small-mouth bass statewide.  Changing the size measurement for sturgeon from total length to fork length.  Allowing anglers to purchase a second catch record card for hatchery steelhead.

Just go to the Department of Fish and Wildlife website at wdfw.wa.gov and click on sport fishing regulations and rule changes.

Comments on the new rules can either be mailed or e-mailed, but you have to do it by November 1st.

A commission will meet Noverber 2nd and 3rd to review your comments. The public is also invited to that meeting.   It's at 600 Capitol Way N., Olympia, Wa. 98501.
