Hutchins' second-half tally propels Wildcats to 1-0 win over Gators
ELLENSBURG, Wash. - The Wildcats' win over San Francisco State was the first in the all-time series between the two schools. Central Washington University freshman Kaycie Hutchins scored her third goal of the season 52 seconds into the second half. This helping the Wildcat women's soccer team improve to 3-1-1 with a 1-0 victory over visiting San Francisco State on Monday afternoon.
Hutchins took a pass from junior Lynde Clarke and put it past Gator goalkeeper Sarah Balderas for the 1-0 lead. Wildcat goalkeeper Amber Easterbrook then made a crucial save with 1:39 to go in the match, perserving the victory. She made six saves in the shutout effort.
San Francisco had won the first four meetings against Central, Easterbrook lowered her season goals against average from 2.51 to 1.37 with her fifth career shutout. Sophomore Danielle Monson made her CWU debut on Monday against San Francisco State.
