BBB Warns of Online Help Wanted Scam

Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- An online job posting site could trick you out of money. Better Business Bureau officials say a convicted criminal named Harris Black is posting job postings on free classified services like Craig's List.

When a person tries to research the help wanted ads, all they find is the resume writing service. It costs money and doesn't get them the job they were looking for.

The BBB says Black and services like his are taking advantage of the vulnerable, unemployed and new immigrant population.

The BBB's Norma Miller says, "Most people who are looking for a job need money and some of them are willing to pay money to get the job which is perfectly legitimate. However, not when it is under a misleading circumstance."

The BBB recommends researching any company you're considering working for and that you should take all the steps necessary to protect your identity.
