KENNEWICK, Wash - There are new names and faces, but some things have not changed in the Tri-City/Everett series. At Sunday's match-up at the Toyota Center the teams combined for 123 penalty minutes in the Everett Silvertips (2-2-1-0) 4-0 shutout of the Tri-City Americans (1-2-1-1).
The 'Tips' Brennan Sonne recorded the game's first goal with under four minutes remaining in the first period. In the second period, Everett's Kyle Beach notched two goals, while Brandon Campos registered the other, to give the 'Tips all the offense they needed in the contest.
In goal for Tri-City, Kyle Birch stopped 31 of the 35 shots. Meanwhile, Everett's David Reekie collected all 31 shots he faced. The two rivals will get a bit of a break before Tri-City and Everett open the 2007-08 regular season on September 21 at the Everett Events Center. Before then, however, the Americans will host the Portland Winter Hawks on Saturday, September 15 at the Toyota Center. Game time is 7:05 PM for the final pre-season tune-up for Tri-City.
