OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Gov. Chris Gregoire is recommending that the state have DNA samples of all sex offenders on file, as well as increased monitoring of offenders.
The suggestions were among four made to a task force created to review the case of Terapon Adhahn, a convicted sex offender who has been charged with the kidnapping, rape and murder of a 12-year-old Tacoma girl in July.
The Sex Offender Task Force is expected to issue a preliminary review of the Adhahn case later Monday. But Gregoire says that the task force has reported to her that the state has made improvements in sex offender laws. The task force's final report with recommendations to the Legislature will come Oct. 4.
