Motor Coach Tour Operators Visit Tri-Cities To Learn About Tourist Attractions
PASCO, Wash. - The Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau is targeting a new group to bring more tourism to our area.
More than 25 motor tour operators from around the Northwest are in town for a week. Monday afternoon they met with local businesses to learn more about what the Tri-Cities has to offer tourists.
Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory, LIGO, Education and Outreach Coordinator Dale Ingram was one of the local businesses explaining the LIGO attraction to the visitors.
He said, "Having the Visitor and Convention Bureau act as a liaison between us and these kinds of groups is very very helpful to us because these are not the kinds of contacts we would have to make in our normal course of business. "
Tuesday the motor tour operators will visit LIGO to get a better understanding of the observatory.
They have events planned all week.
Kim Shugart, the Vice President of Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau, said other main attractions include the rivers, boat tours, Hanford Reach, Sacajawea Interpretive Center and all of the wineries.
