Benton City Bridge Tagged Causes Concern for City Leaders
BENTON CITY, Wash.--Graffiti in Benton City is a growing concern for city leaders.
Thursday night the bridge leading into town was tagged. There was a large amount of graffiti underneath the bridge.
It's believed members of the MSP(Mexican Stand Proud) gang are responsible for the vandalism.
The city's Code Enforcement officer says all of the graffiti incidents are damaging the town's reputation.
"It takes a lot of time to go around, get all the pictures, take it and start the investigation on all the graffiti that's around town," says Tami Colley. It's frustrating and it makes the town look really ugly."
Parts of the bridge were just re-painted on September 5th. Colley thinks rival gangs will try and mimic what's already been done.
