WAPATO, Wash -- A deadly intersection in Wapato claims another life.
Early Saturday morning, Timothy Brown of Toppenish crashed his SUV near the intersection of South Wapato Road and McDonald Road.
According to police, Brown crossed the center line where South Wapato Road curves around. When he tried to get back on to his side of the road, he lost control, flipping his 1997 Nissan Pathfinder, and crashing into a power pole. He was ejected from his truck.
It's the type of accident that neighbors say happens all to frequently right there at McDonald and South Wapato.
"I've witnessed three deaths myself personally on this spot," said Mariano Visaye. "Right here, three people have died pretty much in my arms."
Brown was not wearing his seat belt. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role.
