RICHLAND, Wash. - Diabetes is a nation wide problem and it affects over 21 million children and adults in the U.S. every year.
Kami lowry knows the life long challenge of dealing with diabetes, having had it for 22 years now.
She's hoping more people will participate in this years "Step Out to Fight Diabetes" walk. She says every dollar donated gets researches closer to finding a cure. "They've made a lot of progress in insulin and insulin pumps and we want to keep the research dollars coming so we can find a cure."
If you would like to support people like Kami and help fight diabetes you can sign up today to walk or sponsor someone else. Go to diabetes.org to pre-register, or you can register before the walk that Saturday.
The walk is on September 22nd at Howard Amon Park in Richland.
