RICHLAND, Wash.- The City of Richland is ready to talk with residents about it's new master plan for the Richland Wye neighborhood.
The City wants to address changes to the area along Columbia Park Trail where it's quickly moving from residential to commercial property.
The City will hold a meeting Wednesday to discuss the changes with residents and business owners in that region.
They're also laying out preliminary land use plans and park and recreation plans for the Wye.
The City says they want to know what property owners want as they develop a long-term plan for the neighborhood.
"Pretty quickly becoming a neighborhood that's in transition, and the City Council has some idea about how they might want to see that redeveloped and we're touching base now with the residents to listen to their long term interests and trying to dovetail the two together," said Joe Schiess.
The Port of Kennewick has already made a big investment there with the new Spaulding Business Park.
The open house is Wednesday night from 4:00 to 6:00 at the City Shops Building at 2700 Duportail.
