The FLW Pro Bass Tournament Kicks of at Columbia Point Marina on Wednesday
With a purse of one million dollars pro bass fisherman or anglers as they are referred to in the sport are coming into the Tri-Cities from all over the country with some coming in from as far away as Japan.
The the Tri City Convention Bureau says the exciting thing is that it's a new event and it's putting the Columbia River on the map for a destination fishing spot.
With more than 400 anglers participating in the FLW tournament people will realize how good the bass fishing is here.
One local pro angler has been fishing the Columbia since 1965 and can't wait for Wednesday to get here.
Bob Adkinson says he just absolutely loves bass fishing, it's his passion and it's what he lives for.
Adkinson says he'd love to think he could win the million dollar purse but he would be happy with placing in the top fifty and if he were to make it to the top ten he says "you wouldn't be able to smack the smile off of his face.
The tournament begins at 6:30 Wednesday morning as the boats race out to find the perfect spot to cast their lines. So come support the anglers and meet the pros. The tournament runs through Saturday with weigh-ins everyday at three.
