KENNEWICK, Wash. - As the Tri-City Americans prepare to begin their season, Colton Yellow Horn hopes he's on his way up the ladder.
Yellow Horn has been at an NHL camp, trying out with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Sources say he probably won't make an NHL roster, but could be headed to Norfolk, Virginia to play in the American Hockey League. That would be the minor league team for the Lightning, a step away from the NHL. If he doesn't make that club, he could come back to the Americans.
Tri-City opens the season Friday at Everett. The first home game is Friday, October 5.
