Columbia River will Close to Chinook Retention in WA and OR.
Washington, - Starting Wednesday September 19th a new restriction on Chinook Salmon goes into effect.
Sport fishermen on the Columbia River will be required to release any Chinook Salmon they catch. The area affected is between the Blue Bridge in the Tri-Cities, downstream to the Bonneville Dam near Portland.
Fish and wildlife officials say the number of that type of fish has dropped by 40 percent.
