KENNEWICK, Wash. - There's a web site now available to the public that could help track down missing people, or identify them.
The Washington Association of Sheriff's and Police Chiefs helped launch the site. On the homepage, you can enter a person's name, their description, or search for information on unidentified remains.
On the right-hand side of the screen, you can also search for recent missing persons reports, by age. A person's physical description, photograph and other information is included. It comes from the Washington State Patrol's registry of missing persons and unidentified remains.
Police are hoping the web site will help solve cases. If you think you know where a missing person is, you're asked to call the agency listed in the record before doing anything else.
