Evan Mettie has spent the last several months at a hospital in New Jersey but today he's moving a whole lot closer to home.
The Selah native suffered a traumatic brain injury in Iraq when a roadside bomb hit the vehicle he was riding in on New Year's Day. Since the accident Mettie has had multiple surgeries and lost some of his brain function. He will now continue his rehabilitation at Yakima memorial hospital's Garden Village, which is a long-term care facility. Back in march... Evan's mother...Denise Mettie testified in front of a senate committee about the problems she has faced with the veterans healthcare system.
Evan's father will speak at a press conference where he will discuss Evan's time in Iraq and everything leading up to his return home
