Accused Rapist Still Without an Attorney

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash.- Accused rapist David Webster appeared in a Franklin County courtroom Tuesday, two weeks after his lawyer was removed from the case.

Webster still doesn't have a defense attorney.

A judge decided Tuesday to continue the proceedings for two weeks to give Webster time to find a public defender and also ruled Webster will stay in the Franklin County Jail until at least that point instead of being taken to a state facility.

"It would be me pointing out to the court that i would like to be housed where i'm at especially at this critical time because i'm here to push forward with this case. I understand that the state is talking about some additional charges now," Webster said in court Tuesday.

Webster is accused of raping his cellmate in the Franklin County Jail in 2003.

He's already serving a 26 year sentence for assault.
