90-Year-Old Woman Injured in Selah After Driving an ATV

SELAH, Wash - A 90-year-old woman has serious injuries after being thrown from an ATV.

Yakima County Sheriff Deputies say Dorthea Cashman of Bonny Lake was visitng her family off of North Wenas Road in Selah Thursday night.  The elderly woman enjoys riding ATV's and has done it before.

After getting instructions on how to ride the ATV she started going to fast and lost control.  She slammed through two fences before being thrown into a shallow creek.  When her family came to see if she was alright, she was able to speak with them.

An ambulance took her to Yakima Regional Hospital where she is being treated for a broken arm and ribs.  She is also suffering from back and neck injuries.  Officials say the injuries aren't life threatening and Cashman will spend a few days in the hospital.
