KENNEWICK, Wash.--You might have seen more police officers at the Red Robin in Kennewick today.

It's part of the Tip a Cop fundraiser which raises money for the Special Olympics.

Money raised will go towards athletes in Benton and Franklin counties.

Areva corporation also presented police chief Ken Hohenberg with a check for $1,000 dollars. The donation was on behalf of the Torch Run campaign.

"Areva's proud to be a good neighbor in the community and we're proud to be able to sponsor Special Olympics for the first time this year," says Brad Watt.

Around 2:00 p.m., Kennewick police say they received over $700 dollars in tips. The event happens several times a year. Officers from around the state take part in the fundraiser.
